Company Overview

19 years is a long time to observe changes in business models. The 80’s were all about money and power, the 90’s focussed on new technologies, and now in 2008, we look for a clear picture on why our work matters.

Old school business took a break from dominance and watched 19 year-old Xbox junkies become multi-millionaires overnight in their garages. More wealth was created in the 90’s than in the previous hundred years. When the inflated tech bubble burst, business as a whole ran for cover to hide from the fallout. Chicken Little was right…the sky had fallen.

The cost to business by this dot.com crash was more expensive than the direct monetary value. Business lost its confidence. Having lost touch with their ‘gut’ ‘instinct’, or ‘intuition’ that built  the steel empires of the 20th century had now gone to the wayside and was now replaced with an emotional war zone. Individuals who were promised riches through stock options now wait in line at E.I. delivered by a beast we call ‘downsizing’.

Business has lost its intuition. Business has lost its ability to communicate. Business has become a shattered former self. Leaders want results from staff who distruct their company and are insecure about their position within it. Enron and Arthur Anderson, once titans, are now cautionary tales. This is all because scattered visions for business were derived from fear and protection, rather than reception and creation.

InSight Out Consulting Inc. starts at Ground Zero, and we mean Ground Zero. We come right into the company and look for what has happened, what is happening, and how your organization is communicating, thinking and seeing. We look at the executive vision, the common vision, why the vision matters and its source. We look at how the company culture enables achievement. We aren’t talking about just executive decisions, but company wide acceptance and passion for market positioning and vision for the future. Somehow we have learned that when things get tough, you downsize, minimize and batten down the hatches. That’s the last thing you want to do. Imagine that you find out you have cancer. You lock all your doors, cancel your electricity and stop ordering food. You wait for things to get better. What are your chances?

Fear is an emotion that can be replaced with certainty and trust. The smallest tree will reach for the sun under a heavy canopy because it is certain it needs it for survival. InSight Out has worked with a variety of clients in getting back to the real reason they are in business. Our practise is focussed on improving the intrinsic vision, passion, accountability and communications within a company to ensure that it will grow knowing that its work matters beyond business success. It is about self and organizational leadership based on the deeper knowledge inherent to all.

At the end of the day, your company is built on the people that it employs and the services it delivers. Businesses that see their role as society changing, stretch to achieve their goals and who are not afraid to break new ground in pursuit of their purpose, are the ones who can magnetize and engage creative talent.

Sincerely,
